The challenge

The group managed thousands of internal policies across entities in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The original on-premises SharePoint solution had grown for a decade: approval workflows, PDF publishing, reading obligations and HR-driven audience targeting - all on infrastructure approaching end of support, with auditors expecting full traceability.

What we did

We rebuilt the platform as a set of .NET services and web applications on top of SharePoint Online, migrating the full document estate and its metadata without interrupting the review calendar.

Drafting, approval routing, publishing with automated PDF rendering, reading tasks and periodic review reminders run as background jobs orchestrated by Hangfire. Audience targeting and reviewer resolution come from live HR master data, so reorganizations propagate without manual list maintenance.

Authentication was moved to Entra ID app registrations, retiring legacy service accounts as Microsoft ended support for older sign-in protocols.
